Hello and welcome to the first ever blog post by Minds Matter.
I’m Alex Cullen and I’m one of the contributors for Minds Matter, I am a Certified Personal Trainer and deal with issues such as depression on a regular basis. I’m also here to advise people on which sort of exercise is best when trying to get rid of stress, depression etc… As Exercise is one of the best ways to get rid of/ help take your mind of what’s going on.
Minds Matter is an on-line support group for people suffering/ been affected from mental illness. It started out as a simple Facebook page and quickly grew and demanded more care, attention and content.
Our primary objective is to let people know that it is okay to talk about these issues. What makes us unique is that unlike all other sites set up to help people who have mental issues, Mind Matters is set up by someone who has lived it. Lewis has been there, done it and probably picked up the t-shirt.
We have a on-line forum so that you can talk to people who are going through similar things. On the Minds Matter you will be helping others (if you chose to).
So what can you expect from our blog?
Well from me you can expect some exercise video, programmes, tips and e-books.
As from Lewis and other contributors you can expect informational articles, real life stories, accounts from people suffering with certain mental health issues, links to useful sites and info… and I’m sure a whole lot more.
Hopefully as we grow we want to do more and help support events and other mental health ventures. But to begin with the easiest way we can continue our support is to give more valuable content from our blog. Remember that we are here to help so don’t be shy and please comment and give us your feedback and advice
